About the team This role sits within The Commonwealth Private Wealth Team and is an integral member of the Investment Research Team, working collaboratively with the Private Wealth Distribution Team, Investment Operations Team and the Private Banking Team. About the opportunity Reporting into the Chief Investment Officer – Private Wealth, the Analyst – Investment Research will be a generalist with broad strength in research analysis ideally with some level of exposure across all asset classes with a particular focus on managed funds to help deliver an excellent customer value proposition and holistic solutions to CBA’s high net worth customers. You will help drive the successful delivery of a seamless whole of wealth value proposition inclusive of wealth management and investments across the full spectrum of asset classes and drive customer satisfaction through deepening relationships and developing relevant solutions. You will work collaboratively with the Investment Research Team to support their endeavour to canvass the market for best-in-class investment opportunities and apply rigour and good governance to investment analysis, research, selection and content. You will also play an integral supporting role in helping to deliver an investment research framework to manage towards solving customer needs and driving engagement activity across the Private Bank customer cohort. Additionally, you will: As a supporting generalist analyst, help drive the seamless co-ordination of investment research across the asset classes. Be a “utility player” to help facilitate the development and ongoing maintenance of the Investment Process and help drive our asset allocation strategy, portfolio construction and investment selection activities. Co-ordinate a well-structured cadence and approach to research content including fund information reports, performance reporting, due diligence reporting and educational material. Provide generalist coverage to the Asset Class Specialists where required – which can include authoring of reports, content and governance papers. Help co-ordinate investment manager screening, engagement and ongoing relationship management. Help co-ordinate operational engagement with fund manager responsible entities and platforms including experience in delivering SMA’s or Managed Accounts. Co-ordinate client research events and fund manager engagements (internal & client-facing). Facilitate the oversight of APL approvals and non-APL approvals, Supplementary Investments and the requisite review processes. Ensure compliance with the relevant Group standards and regulatory requirements. Contribute to an effective, efficient and compliant research framework that underpins the Private Wealth Value Proposition and manages and reports on the success and efficacy of this delivery process. Develop long-term, in-depth internal and client relationships via strong customer and stakeholder interactions from a content and engagement perspective. About you To be successful, you will have: 1-2 years plus experience in a research role with a wealth manager, asset manager, broker or advisor group. Strong analytical and technical writing skills and experience as it pertains to investments and investment research. Strong grasp of the technical evaluation aspects of asset allocation, portfolio construction, equities, fixed income, alternatives and real assets. Experience in wealth management and financial markets preferably in the HNW segment (e.g. Private banking or Wholesale UHNW Asset Management or HNW Wealth management). RG 146 training in Securities, Bonds and Managed Investments; CFA qualifications or equivalent would be an advantage. Experience in managed fund analysis. Experience in Wealth management solutions and regulation relating to wholesale and sophisticated investor segment. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Proven ability in analytical, organizational, problem-solving, operational and customer service skills. A high level of EQ coupled with the ability to work collaboratively with other teams. Some level of understanding of the regulatory framework governing an investment research offering in the HNW segment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
