This newly established platform offers an exciting opportunity to enhance the team’s technical capabilities while driving best practices and ensuring technical excellence. You will lead the evolution of our data modelling and warehousing strategies, with a focus on building reliable data pipelines and optimising data architecture for scalability and efficiency. Your strong communication skills will enable you to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, gather business requirements, and translate them into technical solutions. Experience in data solutions, data pipelines, and data warehousing is essential, with a preference for candidates who have expertise in Databricks or similar platforms. What are we looking for? Leadership that is proactive and centred around fostering an environment where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged and celebrated. Demonstrated experience in data and modelling - conceptual, logical, physical and other models. Strong SQL skills and experience in programming languages such as Python. Experience with data platforms such as Databricks (preferred), BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server). Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Dataform, Azure Data Factory, and Informatica. Strong ability to engage and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Extensive experience in implementing, designing & developing data warehousing, and reporting assets from complex and disparate enterprise data sources. The ability to articulate technical details effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences and produce clear technical documentation. A proven track record of capturing and translating business needs into actionable data-driven architectures and solutions. What will your key responsibilities include? Define and drive best practices for data modelling and data warehousing, overseeing and providing technical guidance to your team. Design and optimise scalable data models, pipelines, and workflows to support analytics and reporting. Shape the data strategy by collaborating with leadership to align technical solutions with business objectives. Evaluate and adopt modern data tools and frameworks (e.g., Databricks, Delta Live Tables). Design and implement the data warehouse to provide user-friendly and intuitive models, providing valuable support to our business stakeholders. Establish and enforce standards for data integrity, accuracy, and security. Lead technical oversight, including code reviews, development best practices, and deployment strategies. Manage and mentor a team of analytics engineers, fostering growth and skill development. Enhance the team’s capabilities through mentoring and development, ensuring best practices in data engineering and analytics. Prioritise and deliver on analytics projects while balancing technical debt and innovation. Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, data analysts, data engineers, and IT teams. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to clearly identify opportunities and challenges that can be addressed with data analytics solutions. What can you expect from us?
