Current in the practice of Vascular, Thoracic, Neurosurgical, Obstetric and Pediatric anesthesia. Qualifications, Education and Skills Requisites Mandatory: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License Full Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PAL) The Department of Anesthesia of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) seeks additional enthusiastic and dedicated Anesthesiologists to join our growing team of 40 members. Eligible applicants hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Anesthesiology and are eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. Successful candidates will have a strong history of success in all domains of the CanMeds roles outlined by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. We are a growing academic department providing services integrated across two tertiary hospital sites in Victoria. Affiliated with the University of British Columbia and the Island Medical Program, responsibilities will include both direct clinical care and teaching of medical students and residents. We recommend prospective applicants to work as a locum or include an elective rotation in Victoria during their training.
