About the Opportunity Join our Tree Care Team and play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our urban forest. This hands-on, field-based position offers the chance to make a real impact on our community’s green spaces. You will make an impact by: Conducting thorough inspections of Council’s tree assets to identify defects and recommend remedial actions. Updating the Tree Asset Management System and coordinating necessary works with contractors. Performing quality audits on tree maintenance works to ensure compliance with Council policies and industry standards. Providing expert advice on tree management and maintenance to internal and external stakeholders. Supporting the Team Leader Arboriculture Works in managing the Council’s tree population with a focus on risk management. What you will bring: Diploma Arboriculture - AQF 5 (will consider applicants that are already undertaking or working towards completing the qualification). Tree Risk Assessment qualification, or willing to attain either the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) or Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA). Knowledge of the relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to all aspects of vegetation clearance around electricity lines, road regulations, services e.g. water, gas and telecommunications, specifically Electricity Safety (Electric Line Clearance) Regulations, Road Management Act and Code of Practice, Water Act, Telecommunications Act. Strong knowledge of tree asset management systems and industry best practices. Excellent communication skills to provide clear advice and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, along with the ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
