By advising and guiding our partners virtually and personally on VELUX opportunities and designs, we will contribute to shape their dream project and act as their preferred sparring partner from initial thought until final installation. Your role will be to cultivate strong connections with architects in your region, showcasing how our skylight solutions enhance living spaces and seamlessly integrate into their designs. Your influence will extend to promoting principles of Healthy Indoor Environments and Sustainable Building Practices, showcasing VELUX products and services. Engaging with architectural universities and societies, you'll contribute to creating a sustainable network in your region. Your role as a relationship manager will drive daily activities, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal stakeholders and effective project management. Join us in inspiring the next generation of architects and architects-to-be with VELUX's principles of designing Healthy Indoors and Sustainable Building Practices. This position requires adaptability being based in our Sydney office with regular travel across Australia. Key responsibilities As the Architect Development Manager, you will lead initiatives to build and manage partnerships, driving relevance and awareness of our solutions. Your responsibilities include managing architect practices, actively engaging with partners to inspire and educate on daylight designs, and recommending optimal solutions based on your insights. You'll play a pivotal role in defining and visualizing solutions, conducting business presentations, and attending conferences and local events to further educate architects. More specifically, you will: Develop and execute a comprehensive plan within your region to establish and nurture partnerships, fostering relevance and raising awareness of our skylight solutions. Proactively manage architect practices in your region through engaging meetings aimed at inspiring and educating on daylight designs and product guidance. Listen attentively to partners, understanding their design needs and the key drivers behind their projects. Leverage your insight and knowledge to recommend optimal design solutions, including creating basic drawings and requesting visualization packages from colleagues. Lead engaging business presentations (CPD’s) to educate architects and highlight key topics promoted by VELUX. Represent VELUX at local, regional, and national conferences, organizing events and seminars for architects. Inspire architects and planners by championing the principles of Healthy Indoor Environments and Sustainable Building Practices, showcasing how VELUX products integrate daylight and fresh air into project designs. Promote and expand our service portfolio for architects and planners, developing additional offerings as needed. Conduct impactful "lunch & learns" to impart deep knowledge about our product and service portfolio to entire practices. Collaborate closely with VELUX internal stakeholders, including Project Development Managers and Territory Managers, ensuring seamless project management and handover through the pipeline. Provide comprehensive overviews to internal stakeholders. Spearhead the creation of a sustainable architectural network in your region, serving as the interface to our project responsible team. Prioritize relationship management as a core driver of your daily activities. Establish a network with influential architecture universities and course leaders in the region, presenting and providing VELUX content to inspire the next generations of architects with our principles of designing Healthy Indoors and Sustainable Building Practices. Cultivate strong relationships with relevant regional and local architectural societies, such as RIBA/RIAS and planning authorities, as well as broader influencers. Who we are looking for The ideal candidate could have experience as an architect or architect technician and we also welcome candidates with relevant experience within the building industry who can excel in this role. Your autonomous and structured approach and attention to details means you never lose sight of a project, and meeting deadlines and delivering what has been agreed with the partner is of paramount importance to you. You're enthusiastic and have a passion for delivering high-quality results. You have a deep passion for people and architecture and you can quickly establish rapport and instil trust and confidence. Your excellent communication skills, curiosity, and ability to connect with others make you a standout partner. Your ability to build relationships, listen to and influence others means you effortlessly uncover the needs of others and use your technical expertise to offer inspiring design recommendations. Furthermore, you: Understand the world and everyday life of an architect and can engage on the architects’ terms. Understand architect drawings, create simple drawings of the roof with roof window solutions and instruct others to use these drawings for render designs. Hold a sales-mindset and an ability to ensure partners are designing the solutions that is right for them and their customers. Have a passion for sustainable building design and improving the lives and spaces that we create. Hold well-developed questioning techniques to ensure in-depth understanding of partner needs. Are curious and excited to learn about our product portfolios and offerings. Have solid IT-skills and experience in among others the Microsoft office package. Hold a valid driver’s license.
