The Australian Defence Force has an opening for a PR officer to serve in the Australian Army, to be based in Brisbane.The position will require the candidate to enlist in the army and undergo basic military training, including the use of firearms and serve a minimum three-year commitment.The Army PR officer will be in charge of the service’s publicity and reputation management efforts. They will liaise with unit commanders on handling specific issues, draft media releases and articles for official Army publications, and handle content for general public consumption such as pictures of service personnel in action.The position may require assignments to other Army units across the country, including the Defence Force HQ in Canberra.The position is primarily open to Australian citizens with PR, Corporate Communications, or Journalism degrees and at least three years’ experience; Marketing graduates with relevant experience may be considered.
