About us Park Orchards Community House & Learning Centre (POCH&LCI) is a not-for-profit neighbourhood house that provides the local community with opportunities for lifelong learning and connection. Our Mission is to provide quality community engagement through social, recreational and learning activities. We do this by placing a community development lens over all activities courses and classes we offer. About the role We are seeking a creative Art & Crafts Instructor to lead an inclusive class for individuals with disabilities starting term 1, 2025. The instructor will provide a supportive, engaging environment where participants can explore art and craft techniques, tailored to their abilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with people with disability and a passion for arts and crafts. Key Responsibilities: · Lead art & craft sessions that are engaging and accessible for participants with varying disabilities. · Offer individualised guidance to ensure all participants can engage safely and confidently. · Maintain a safe environment, adhering to relevant health and safety standards. · Encourage positive communication with participants, their carers, and the program team. Essential Skills and Experience: Experience with Disability: Experience working with people with disabilities. Art & Craft Skills: Strong background in arts and crafts, with the ability to adapt techniques for various needs. Patience & Empathy: Compassionate, patient approach to working with people of all abilities. First Aid (preferred): Knowledge of basic first aid. Job Type: Subcontract Expected hours: 2 per week Schedule: Fixed shift Experience: Teaching: 1 year (Preferred) Licence/Certification: Driver Licence (Required) First Aid Certification (Preferred) Working with Children Check (Preferred) Police Check (Required) Work Authorisation: Australia (Required) Work Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr
