Job Description

MBM is a national independent Australian owned property consultancy providing Quantity Surveying, Building Consultancy, Tax & Asset Services, PPP Advisory, Infrastructure, Facilities Management Advisory and Expert Witness services. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Asset Management Advisor to join our team at the Sydney office . This role is pivotal in supporting our team with the delivery of comprehensive property consultancy services, contributing to our continued growth and success. About the Team: Our team has extensive experience delivering advisory services related to Facilities and Asset Management for both new and existing infrastructure. Our engagements span a broad range of services, including: Contracting and procurement of Facilities Management and Asset Management services, such as developing contract specifications, evaluation plans/criteria, performance regimes and calibration of payment mechanisms; Development of Asset Management and Operational Plans; Lifecycle costing and analysis; FM and Asset Management Service delivery reviews; Advising on social infrastructure PPPs (e.g. Schools, Hospitals, Housing, etc.); and Provision of due diligence reports. We have worked with both government departments and private sector clients across various asset classes and sectors including schools, hospitals, courthouses, prisons, social housing, convention centres, car parks and sporting facilities. About the Role: Responsibilities & Duties The successful candidate will collaborate with senior and executive advisers to deliver project outcomes. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Asset Management and Facilities Management Advice Evaluating and describing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of potential asset management and FM service delivery models. Reviewing client Asset Management and Facilities Management service delivery model against industry best practice, such as ISO55000 and ISO 41000. Preparing lifecycle and whole of life cost models. Undertaking Due Diligence reports for Asset Management and Facilities Management Services under PPP models. Assisting in the undertaking of building condition audits. Assisting in providing advice on building maintenance, including preventative and reactive maintenance, minor works and life-cycle replacement strategies. Procurement Assisting with the development of contracting and procurement documentation for Asset Management and Facilities Management services. Drafting of presentations and agendas for workshops with clients and stakeholders. Drafting of reports, aligned to MBM format and structure, including:Feasibility studies Peer reviews Service delivery assessments Business cases Procurement scopes Bid evaluations Performance management and KPI frameworks Contract Administration Drafting of review reports for operational plans, including:Service readiness / mobilisation plans Asset Management Plans Contract delivery management plans Performance management and monitoring plans Soft FM plans Evaluating the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of various asset and facilities management systems. Advising clients on FM/Asset Management contract administration, including transition management, performance reviews, audits, contract variations, and general contract management. General Duties The successful candidate will be expected to conform to practice and business requirements including: Accurate and timely completion of timesheets; Compliance with MBM’s Occupational Health and Safety and Anti-Discrimination policies; Assist with general office administration; Adherence to MBM’s core values: precision, integrity and reliability; Participation in industry functions to build networks; Development of strong relationships with current and new clients. Qualities & Skills The successful candidate will possess: Proven experience in delivering Asset Management and Facilities Management Services either in the public or private sector; A tertiary qualification across Building, Asset Management or Facilities Management (or related discipline); Commercial experience across the Asset Management and Facilities Management procurement lifecycle including development of specifications, KPIs and payment mechanisms, evaluation and contract negotiation; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong analytical abilities; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Project). Desirable skills and experience considered to be of benefit include; Accreditation with a relevant industry body (e.g. FMA, IFMA, AMC, IAM, IPWEA, RICS or AIQS); Proficiency in data analysis; Experience with computerised facilities management or asset management systems; BIM training or experience; Experience of implementation or working with recognised international standards such as ISO55000 or ISO41000.
