Assistant Accountant 12 month Fixed term Contract Transactional Sydney Contract or Temp Job Description I've partnered with my client who is a leading Australian business in their field with their office based in Sydney CBD looking for a bright Assistant Accountant to step into a newly created role that focuses on month-end and day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and attention to detail. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will be responsible for the ongoing transactional accounting with the following responsibilities: The Role & Responsibilities: Prepare and provide monthly and quarterly price volume rebate calculation. Booking and reversing accruals for customers per the information provided by Sales and Marketing department. Process payroll related journals for fortnightly and monthly payroll. Monthly preparation and lodgement of BAS for ANZ. Monthly preparation and lodgement of payroll tax for ANZ. Balance sheet reconciliations. Provide assistance and support to Financial Accountant, Financial Controller and Finance team as required. Preparing and posting of prepayment schedule. Monthly prepare, review and post fixed asset depreciation. Assist the Financial Accountant with intercompany on-charges. Maintain the Project Registers with sales, settlements and commission details. Manage insurance portfolio including fleet insurance. Reconcile the Trust Accounts and prepare month-end journals. Track commissions owed. About You: Excellent time management and organization skills Client-focused and able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Good communication skills Ability to effectively communicate with all employees within the organization. 2-3 years Finance and Accounting experience.
