The position of Assistant Director, Work Health and Safety sits in the Chief Operating Officer Group. As part of the Work Health and Safety team, you will play an important role in managing compliance with legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks relating to work health to ensure adherence to work health and safety practices. You will work closely across teams across the organisation to guide and support workers, managers, and executives in the implementation of SLA’s Work Health and Safety Management System. You will be experienced in delivering strategic and operational requirements relating to work health and safety as well as understanding and/or experience of WHS construction site visits and auditing requirements. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Highly Desirable Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety Driver’s licence class C Desirable Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) and/or qualifications and experience in WHS auditing (highly desirable) This position may be required to undertake the roles of First Aid Officer and/or Fire Warden. Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for four months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill similar vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee report only. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
