The Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) is currently seeking applications for an EL1 Assistant Director, Accessibility and User-Centred Design, to join the User Experience and Member Support Branch. This ongoing full-time flexible role can be located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Perth, Melbourne or Sydney. About the Tribunal: The Administrative Review Tribunal plays a crucial role in the Australian legal landscape, providing a process for individuals and organisations to seek an independent review of decisions made under a wide range of Commonwealth laws. About the opportunity: Reporting to the Director, Accessibility and User-Centred Design, the Assistant Director assists the Director with managing a team responsible for designing and implementing improvements to the Tribunal’s processes to ensure they are user-focused and accessible. This may include collecting, analysing, and responding to user feedback, coordinating user-focused stakeholder engagement and community outreach, providing advice on complex accessibility matters, developing related policies, and collaborating on the design of digital services such as the Tribunal’s website. About you: To be successful in the role you will have: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, cultivate a culture of collaboration, and model standards of behaviour consistent with APS Values, APS Employment Principles and APS Code of Conduct. Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly, make persuasive recommendations, and adapt to the needs of different audiences. Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, work collaboratively to achieve outcomes, and negotiate successfully. Demonstrated ability to think strategically, exercise judgement, and ensure alignment of section activities with organisational priorities. Proven capacity to deliver results, identify opportunities for improvement, develop creative solutions, and manage risks appropriately. An in-depth understanding, or the ability to quickly acquire an in-depth understanding, of the Tribunal’s legislative and policy context, particularly in relation to the delivery of user-focused and accessible services to diverse users. The successful applicant will have a passion for accessibility and inclusion and be committed to the user experience. Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualifications or expertise in accessible service delivery including User-centred Design. Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
