The Parliamentary Library provides high quality analysis and advice to Parliamentarians and produces a range of publications to support their work. The Communications and Publishing team manages the library’s online presence including our website, Client Portal (intranet) and coordinates publication of engaging research, legislative analysis and data visualisation. We create and distribute Library communications to Parliamentarians and the wider community, and manage our social channels (LinkedIn, X and Facebook). You’ll be responsible for managing the delivery of the Library’s online presence including our website and intranet and social media presence, as well as the Library’s communication products and strategy. You will be an experienced leader who leverages the skills of your capable team to produce creative and engaging digital content, support communication objectives and enhance the Library’s digital performance and engagement. Duty Statement Classification: Parliamentary Executive Level 1 Branch: N/A Section: Client Relations & Publishing Immediate supervisor: (Recruitment insert supervisor position title) Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Executive Level 1 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Lead the design, development and delivery of the Library’s communication strategy, and manage the delivery of high-quality communication products, including publications, newsletters, marketing materials and online content. Manage the delivery of the Library’s online presence including its website and intranet, associated websites and social media presence. Lead the design and delivery of creative and engaging digital content to support Library publications and communication objectives. Manage and lead the Communications and Publishing team, ensure the efficient allocation of resources and support staff career development. Provide high quality service delivery to Library staff and Library clients. Work with stakeholders including the Parliamentary Departments to collaborate on and promote common objectives. Analyse and report on the Library’s digital performance and engagement and ensure best practice accessibility is implemented. Provide high quality corporate support functions to the Chief of Staff, including by providing strategic advice and supporting policy development. Conditions of Employment Employment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include: Australian citizenship – to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen. Security clearance and character clearance – the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
