You will be contributing to our role as the national regulator to safeguard and protect older Australians receiving aged care services. The Sector Capability and Regulatory Strategy Division sets the strategic direction and guides the delivery of our risk-based regulatory operations informed by high value intelligence, analysis and data. The Division supports whole of Commission responses to risk issues through regulatory policy responses and campaigns and facilitates sector performance through sharing information with providers and consumers. The Intelligence and Analysis Section provides the Commission with the data, information, and intelligence it needs to deliver, assess and tailor regulatory operations to protect the safety, health and well-being of aged care consumers effectively and efficiently. About the Role The Assistant Director, Intelligence & Analysis manages, coordinates, and leads a key data, information or intelligence function of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. They facilitate development and delivery of data, information or intelligence products, undertake internal and external stakeholder engagement including with the senior executives to determine data, information or intelligence needs of the Commission, and provide subject matter expert advice with regard to contemporary practice and conventions. The Assistant Director, Intelligence & Analysis manages and guides data analysts as well as other supporting officers in the Commission to ensure the delivery of data, information or intelligence products in aid of supporting the functions of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. Position Duties Manages and coordinates the successful development of data, information or intelligence products to support regulatory activity. Leads stakeholder and source engagement and coordination to determine organisational data, information or intelligence needs, including with senior executives. Writes executive briefings and other documentation to clearly communicate findings of analysis to influence executive and senior executive decision making, particularly with regard to the operational and strategic direction of the Commission. Coordinates and manages team and business partner effort in the context of specific projects, including with other areas of Intelligence & Analysis and the Commission. Engage with, and deliver to, senior executive and other senior officers on specific analytical work. Position Eligibility Requirements To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following: Strong experience in engaging with stakeholders in relation to difficult and/or sensitive issues. Excellent research, conceptual thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand and clearly communicate complex analytical findings. Excellent organisational skills and the capability to self-manage multiple competing priorities while working to tight deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills including quality assurance ability. Flexibility to work both independently and work with geographically dispersed teams. Strong data literacy and reporting skills, including high level excel and numeracy skills. Understanding the role of data, intelligence and information by modern regulatory agencies. Ability to manage and lead a team including data, information or intelligence specialist staff. Position Notes: Salary offered will be between $114,247 - $130,300 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid. Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply. Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check. Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term. Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
