Job Description

Key duties and accountabilities The duties of the Assistant Director, Management Accounting will vary according to the needs of the business as informed by the Chief Financial Officer. Under limited direction, duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Managing Sport Integrity Australia's internal budget function through appropriate allocation of Departmental, Administered and Capital appropriations and in accordance with the agency's internal budget framework. Monthly management reporting including variance reports and forecast analysis. Managing Sport Integrity Australia's external budgeting and reporting obligations including assistance in preparing New Policy Proposals and associated costings in accordance with Budget Process Operational Rules and relevant Estimates Memoranda. Coordinating and delivering the Portfolio Budget Statements (PBS) and all key elements of the Commonwealth budget process. Updating to the Commonwealth's budget system (CBMS). Day to day liaison on budget matters with portfolio department contacts, external stakeholders and the Agency Advice Unit (AAU) of the Department of Finance. Delivery of a high-quality financial management framework providing regular reporting on performance against Sport Integrity Australia's strategic objectives. Leadership and supervision of a small, professional team (1 APS6) delivering value-adding services to Sport Integrity Australia stakeholders. Compliance with the Finance Law. Preparing contributions for the Annual Report, Ministerial and Senate Estimate Briefs and questions on notice as required. Leading, mentoring and coaching individuals and groups to develop and deliver consistent, quality outcomes aligned with Sport Integrity Australia's Strategic Plan and the expectations of internal and external stakeholders. Assisting Project Managers (and the business) in assessing resource requirements for projects or activities, including development of project budgets, advice on appropriate project budget management and oversight, and advice to the Project Review Committee on the financial status of budgets. Key accountabilities include: Leading a financial team and ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times. Providing professional and strategic financial management advice contributing to business outcomes in line with government legislation and policy. Using interpretation, analysis and judgement to select an appropriate course of action. Implementing policies in accordance with accepted government financial standards. Compliance with all relevant legislation and Sport Integrity Australia's health and safety policies, procedures and instructions. The key duties of the position include Selection criteria The selection criteria of this role include:Demonstrated experience in the coordination and management of internal and external budget functions at an agency level, leading to strategic outcomes and good fiscal management. Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to interpret and apply finance law in the public sector. Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships. Strong liaison, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence change. Demonstrated personal qualities of integrity, initiative, drive and adaptability, and experience in implementing sound workplace management practices. #J-18808-Ljbffr
