What you will do as the Assistant Director, Payroll and Reporting The Assistant Director, Payroll and Reporting will have a significant role in establishing and managing the AER’s payroll function. This will include working collaboratively with TechnologyOne, the implementation team and other relevant stakeholders to develop, test and implement the One Government SaaS ERP solution. The Assistant Director will also develop the people (3 FTE), and business process controls that facilitate pay and employee entitlements being processed accurately and on-time. Once the payroll function is established, the Assistant Director, Payroll and Reporting will ensure the people, system and process controls that facilitate pay and employee entitlements being processed accurately and on-time are current, documented and administered. This will involve managing the day-to-day payroll operations, delivering the fortnightly payroll and building capability and expertise in a small team. In this role, you will also: Recruit the team (3 FTE) that will support you to deliver the AER’s fortnightly payroll accurately and on time, and across the HR team provide a professional and harmonious working environment, coaching, providing performance feedback, resolving conflict and facilitating career development. Partner with the vendor and implementation team to develop, test and implement the HR and payroll software solution, so SES and non-SES employee entitlements can be administered accurately and on-time. Manage project and major system changes, including regular HR and payroll module updates. Research, advise on, resolve and administer complex and/or sensitive payroll issues including tax obligations, worker’s compensation, terminations, redundancies, etc. About you In order to succeed in the role, you will have: Expert understanding of a payroll software solution (TechnologyOne desirable), the APS employment framework and terms and conditions of employment. Demonstrated ability to manage and administer payroll teams, systems, processes and controls that comply with all relevant requirements.
