Learn new skills and meet your career goals with a wide range of programs, courses and resources.The key duties of the position include: We are currently seeking suitably experienced, highly driven and motivated Assistant Directors to play a pivotal role to support the financial management and stewardship of the DTA.Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), these positions are responsible for providing high level advice and technical expertise to support strategic financial decision making and ensuring compliance with legislative and government financial frameworks.As Assistant Director, Financial Operations, you will: Lead the DTA's financial operations function, including the provision of accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and treasury, credit card and travel management services, as well as manage the DTA's financial governance framework. Provide leadership and direction to support a small team to achieve positive outcomes and supervise and manage staff within the finance, procurement and assurance team. Proactively identify and implement process and system improvements, whilst maintaining strong communication channels with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of the Finance, Procurement and Assurance team outcomes. Lead taxation related tasks including the monthly Business Activity Statements preparation and Fringe Benefits Tax Return process to the Australian Taxation Office. Assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements and the completion of the annual financial statement audit by the Australian National Audit Office. Contribute to other FP&A team tasks including the month end financial reporting processes (payroll, accruals, prepayments, depreciation etc.) and the preparation of monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting to the DTA's Executive Board. As Assistant Director, Management Accounting, you will: Lead the delivery and oversight of the DTA's management accounting responsibilities, including the preparation of modelled projections, analysis and commentary for the DTA's internal budget and forecasting processes ensuring alignment with Executive Board expectations and the DTA's strategic planning process. Lead finance business partnering activities including identify and provide advice and insight on accounting and finance issues and contribute to the development of the DTA's financial management strategy and internal controls to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation. Provide leadership and direction to support a small team to achieve positive outcomes and supervise and manage staff within the finance, procurement and assurance team. Provide timely management and system accounting expertise through the delivery of value adding to internal financial reporting, advice and insight to stakeholders, and accuracy of the DTA's financial forecast. Manage and deliver monthly periodic accounting and reporting processes including month end closure, cost centre reporting and management reporting. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including the external budget and reporting team, DTA business areas, central agencies and service providers. Qualifications and Experience: Tertiary qualification in accounting or a closely related field, and/or significant experience in similar roles are mandatory for these positions.Membership of CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants is highly desirable.#J-18808-Ljbffr
