The Assistant Manager is responsible for producing a high level of taxation and business advisory work as well managing a small portfolio of clients and achieving revenue budget targets. Given this scope, it is essential that the Assistant Manager works in close conjunction with other service line Directors, Managers and employees to ensure that the highest level of service is provided to our clients. The successful candidate will need strong collaboration skills and a commercial mindset. The role will include: Managing a small portfolio of clients in accordance with Hood Sweeney’s service standards; Perform and deliver accounting, taxation and advisory services at a high level including preparation of financial statements and income tax returns; Participate in targeted business development and networking; Collaborate with our other service lines to integrate seamlessly for our clients; Delivering high-level strategic work to add value for our clients; Team management and reviewing of work to ensure our quality standards are maintained; Building and sharing knowledge and engaging in ongoing personal career growth. Ideally, you will have a minimum of five years’ experience in accounting with a mid-tier, multidisciplinary firm, hold CA/CPA qualification and will have already attained an intermediate or senior role. You will understand the specific needs of the industry and be committed to delivering high quality advice and building long-term client relationships. You will have confidence communicating with clients and resolving their issues face to face, as well as a commercially astute mindset. Fluent knowledge of XERO is essential; additional experience in XPM and/or Power BI will be highly regarded. You will be comfortable engaging in proactive business development and networking activities.
