Assistant Manager - Business Services/Tax We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Assistant Manager to join our firm. We are seeking an individual who is proactive and committed to delivering outcomes for both our Clients and Directors. We are a boutique Xero based accounting firm that revels in the positive workplace culture and environment that we provide to our staff. The right candidate will be already managing a portfolio of clients and staff in addition to mentoring and managing workflows and ensuring the quality control standards are adhered to or be a well qualified Senior Accountant looking to take the next step in their career. Responsibilities Managing junior staff including workflow, and reviewing of work Preparation and/or Review of Financial Reports for all entity types Preparation and/or Review of Income Tax Returns for all entity types Preparation of other statutory compliance-related documents for clients as required Liaising with the statutory bodies on behalf of clients Client accounting software assistance and advice Preparation of ad-hoc reports and advice for clients Attend to tax and accounting planning and forecasting for clients Other duties as assigned and required Candidate The candidate must have strong business development and technical skills with demonstrable knowledge in providing general and specific accounting, taxation, and business advice. You will thrive on building deep and trusting relationships and will be able to monitor and meet client-imposed deadlines. Possessing strong leadership and time management skills are essential to this role. We are looking for someone that will be progressive with us as technology evolves, and will encourage and utilise these efficiencies and automations. Qualifications, Experience & Attributes Minimum 5 years of Australian Business Services experience within a practice environment Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles, Standards and Australian Income Tax legislation Excellent written and verbal communication skills The successful candidate will be part of a young team and work within a friendly, social, collaborative and welcoming environment in the Adelaide CBD.
