Our Capital Asset Advisory Services (“CAAS ”) team provides robust valuations of plant and equipment assets for a variety of purposes including tax, financial reporting, stamp duty and insurance under pre-deal, post-deal, restructuring and non-deal scenarios. Position Overview: We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Assistant Manager / Executive to join our Capital Asset Advisory Services Team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will manage large and complex capital asset valuation engagements, perform physical site inspections, review and build valuation models, and mentor junior team members. Responsibilities: Manage large and complex capital asset valuation engagements across Australia and internationally. Perform physical site inspections of plant and equipment as required. Review and build models for tangible asset valuation and asset due diligence. Analyse market information on companies, industries, and transactions to identify key performance metrics and value drivers. Prepare and review valuation reports outlining the analysis, key assumptions, and valuation findings. Deliver valuations for tax, stamp duty purposes, accounting and reporting, and insurance purposes across the deal lifecycle and on a non-deal basis. Mentor and train junior team members within the team. Support the Managing Directors in originating client work, assisting with the preparation of proposals, responses to clients and preparation of thought leadership and go-to-market materials. Participate in meetings and conference calls with target company management and with client personnel with respect to project and execution matters. Assist the engagement manager with engagement issues (e.g., billing, status updates, scope changes) including preparation of engagement letters, information request lists, etc. Consistently display desire to take on more responsibility. Consistently display a considered and consultative approach to risk management. What you will have to join the A&M team: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction, Valuation or a related field. Preferably a Member of the Australian Property Institute, American Society of Appraisers, or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, and progressing towards Certified Practicing Valuer (CPV) accreditation (or equivalent for plant & equipment valuations). The ideal candidate will have prior experience in performing plant & equipment / machinery / tangible asset valuations (recent experience in a Big 4 consultancy or valuation firm will be viewed favourably). Ability to travel within the country to undertake inspections of client facilities. Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required. Experience with data analytics software such as PowerBi preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effective project management and organisational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a team-oriented environment.
