Assistant Restaurant and Bar Manager - First Floor Hotel Brand: Crowne Plaza Hotels & ResortsLocation: Australia, New South Wales, Terrigal Hotel: Terrigal Pacific (TERAS), Pine Tree Lane, 2260 Responsibilities: Manage everyday activity, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers. Supervise Food & Beverage attendants, Team Leaders & Supervisors ensuring that they maintain Hotel standards. Maintain current training procedures and operating standards for all duties carried out in the department. Conduct on-the-job training for all staff and take responsibility for the orientation of new staff. Coach and counsel staff to ensure optimum performance is achieved, taking disciplinary action when required in accordance with the hotel’s policy. Demonstrate cooperation and trust with colleagues, supervisors, teams, and across departments. Communicate effectively to ensure shift handovers are successful. Interact with department and hotel staff in a professional and positive manner. Sales and Revenue Enhancement: Work with other departments to identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue. Drive promotions that deliver great dining experiences for guests at a good value. Ensure credit and financial transactions are handled securely. Strive for constant improvements and take responsibility for achieving business results. Understand the hotel’s business priorities, products, and services and how the department operates. Work with your Manager to ensure clarity on required actions to achieve results, ensuring your team meets deadlines and quality standards. Guest Experience: Respond to guest and staff complaints, inquiries, and needs, reporting any problems to the Manager. Build and maintain positive relationships with all internal customers and guests. Take action to address guest needs to exceed their expectations. Create a positive hotel image in every interaction. Adhere to hotel brand standards. Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge. Assist guests and escort them to locations within the hotel at their request. Stay informed about special programs and events in the hotel to recognize and respond to guest needs. Responsible Business: Ensure Hotel standards, policies, and procedures are enforced, carrying out all duties as instructed by the direct Manager. Ensure that colleagues are fully conversant with and maintain Responsible Service of Alcohol & Responsible Conduct of Gambling practices. Keep daily reports and logs up to date. Regularly check the quality and presentation of food and beverages to Hotel standard, assisting in performing the monthly stocktake. Demonstrate a sound awareness of OHS policies and procedures and disseminate information to all team members. Champion the identification and reporting of hazards, evaluation of risks, and design and implementation of hazard control measures. Facilitate the reporting and investigation of workplace injuries and illnesses, recommending corrective actions. Investigate all accidents/incidents within your area of responsibility. Ensure liaison with employee health and safety representatives regarding workplace changes. Understand Hotel Evacuation procedures and stay informed on relevant issues and legislative information.
