Our collaborator is a quality accredited translation agency based in Girona, Spain, specializing in the translation of technical, scientific, and business documentation. Their clients include multinational companies operating in sectors such as Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Marketing, Chemicals, and Manufacturing.They offer internship opportunities for undergraduates studying translation who would like to gain experience working in a translation agency. You will obtain first-class training and gain important business and project management experience for your future career, providing clear insight into all aspects of the world of professional translation. The training will prove to be invaluable professional training as well as the opportunity to experience living and working in Europe.This trainee role is an opportunity to work alongside their Vendor Manager and gain experience in procurement and project management. The role will come with full training, and you will be working within an international team.The qualified candidate will be a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual who is able to assist with the effective coordination of complex multilingual projects, liaise with freelance translators, and work with the software systems.Tasks Collaborate with the Project Management and Commercial departments regarding procurement needs and available resources. Research industry standard pricing to provide up-to-date recommendations on pricing and resource capacities. Coordinate with the Quality Assurance department to develop and document process improvements that address customer complaints related to procurement. Assist the Vendor Manager in recruiting, vetting, testing, and evaluating new external resources. Assess and maintain data integrity of the vendor database. Develop innovative ways to find new vendors and ensure the full utilization of vetted resources. Requirements High level of numeracy. Native level in English. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Negotiation skills. Problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail. IT proficient. Attention to details is imperative. Spanish language or translation skills are not obligatory for the role. Benefits Immediate incorporation since the project commenced in August 2019. The student will have an official work contract with McFelder during the placement period. Students normally receive an ERASMUS grant, but in addition, they provide a salary of 430€ (minus 2% Spanish tax, legal requirement by Spanish Law).
