This part time role (30hrs per week, pro rata) includes essential weekend work of two Saturdays and two Sundays per month. The weekends worked can be negotiated for the right applicant. Diverse and interesting role working directly for the Weekend Market Manager. Be a key member of a supportive and innovative markets team. Contribute to the growth and success of the iconic Canning Vale Weekend Markets. About Us: Perth Markets Group Limited (PMGL) is an unlisted public company, landowner, property developer and manager. Steeped in history dating back to 1897, Perth Markets is WA’s only wholesale fresh produce market and home to the retail and commercial precinct, Market City, and the growing Canning Vale Weekend Markets. Each weekend the Saturday Clearance Market and Sunday Community Market open to the public and see roughly 5,000 patrons per day. The new Winter Night Market Series operates on Saturdays throughout the month of August. It has quickly become home to Perth’s largest collection of street food vendors/trucks and stallholders and welcoming between 5,000 – 6,000 patrons each night. Working closely with, and reporting to, the Weekend Market Manager, this is a unique opportunity to be a part of a small but passionate team working to continue the growth and development of the Saturday Clearance Markets, Winter Night Markets and Sunday Community Markets. You MUST be available to work weekends at our Saturday morning clearance markets (5am – 11am) and Sunday for the Community Markets (5.30am – 2pm) and some August Saturday nights for the Winter Night Market (1pm – 11pm). You will be closely involved in the day to day running of the markets and developing seasonal themes and activities. You will have a proactive, professional and customer-focused mindset and be comfortable working in the office with peers and with a variety of stallholders, customers, tenants and the general public. Your Required Experience: Demonstrated experience assisting with markets, Managing bump in/bump out, Proven experience in assisting stallholders, Proficient in the use of online booking software. Ability to organise with strong attention to detail, Social media savvy, Experience in budgeting and forecasting (desirable), Relevant qualifications (TAFE or tertiary level), Excellent communication skills with a willingness and ability to build positive relationships with all stakeholders.
