Base pay range A$190,000.00/yr - A$240,000.00/yr Talent Edge has several opportunities for experienced Cost Managers, Project Controls and Commercial professionals to deliver on the state's major projects across the transport and infrastructure sector . You will be in a position of influence on significant infrastructure projects, drawing on both your commercial and technical understanding and management prowess as you become a key project team member. Leading consultancy is looking for an experienced and driven Commercial/Cost Manager to provide client leadership and to bring expertise and knowledge on all cost-related aspects of project control, ensuring consistency with agreed scope of work and budget. You will have superlative communication skills and work collaboratively with the project delivery team and the PMO team across major infrastructure providing comprehensive cost control services on all phases of the project from initiation through to delivery and operation. You’ll take on a key position, as you: Work in a multidisciplinary environment within key rail projects, optimising the project's cost control plan, scope, budget, and time requirements. Lead and contribute to interface with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, overseeing major contractors to ensure consistent application of control methodologies across design and construct contracts. Ensure that the established planning and scheduling methodology is followed in developing project schedules. Update, analyze and evaluate project trends, assess progress while remaining cognizant of the contract requirements, identify potential scope and budget adjustments and ensure that changes align with project strategy. Monitor and manage both owner and contractor cash flows, control actual expenditure, accruals and ensure financial alignment to approved schedules. Regularly complete reports, updates, and analysis on a monthly, annual and ad hoc basis. Support the PMO by identifying trends and areas for improvement contributing to progress measurement and cost management systems. ABOUT YOU We’re looking for a proactive and motivated professional who is able to blend an eye for detail with a holistic, forward-thinking understanding of projects and strong commercial acumen. The ideal candidate will bring: A recognised Degree in a relevant field – Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project Management, Construction, or similar. Relevant industry experience (approx. 10+ years), ideally in heavy rail or roads in a client-side consultancy environment as a quantity surveyor/cost manager. Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining cost management within a complex construction and engineering delivery environment. Experience in planning, cost management and project management of large-scale infrastructure projects across brownfield and greenfield environments. Strong skills working in WBS/CostX software - project controls, forecasting, and reporting to provide insights into project metrics and performance. Strong analytical skills required to review all project information and ensure accuracy. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
