Associate Director Strategic Commercial Employment Type: Ongoing Location: Flexible/hybrid working arrangements available across NSW, with some travel to Sydney metro locations required from time to time (negotiable) Grade: Clerk 11/12 Salary Range: $145,378 - 168,130 p.a. base salary dependent on experience, plus 11.5% superannuation. The opportunity We are excited to invite applications for the opportunity of Associate Director Strategic Commercial for Government Technology Platforms, within Digital NSW as it transforms to become the state's trusted partner to enable accessible and secure digital platforms and services for the citizens and business of NSW. In this role, you will provide leadership and direction across the end-to-end commercial process for all-of-government digital platforms including procurement, vendor and contract management, and supporting the broader team’s budget planning, pricing and cost recovery operations, ensuring value for money and delivery of efficient services to enable the achievement of wider NSW Government objectives. You will engage and develop strategic partnerships with vendors, industry and internal stakeholders to maximise opportunities for collaboration and digital product optimisation. Day to Day Responsibilities People leadership for immediate team and broader directorate, actively participating in Value & Portfolio Management leadership. Operate laterally to support directorate, GTP leaders and represent Director Commercial as required including providing expert, actionable advice to senior leaders. Lead and manage the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring compliance with NSW Government policies and maximising value for money. Engage with vendors and industry partners to develop strategic partnerships and optimise digital product offerings. Oversee contract management, including negotiations and compliance monitoring, to secure optimal outcomes for the organisation. Support budget planning, pricing strategies, and cost recovery operations to ensure financial sustainability and alignment with government objectives. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in commercial processes and mitigate risks. What you will bring to this role Demonstrated experience in leading a large multi-disciplinary team in a service delivery environment while developing and operationalising commercial processes, including strategic sourcing and procurement, to align with organisational and NSW government objectives. Experience in leading and representing the team as a delegate for senior leadership to promote initiatives that enhance the value of government platforms, products, and services. Experience in designing and implementing long-term strategies to ensure service continuity aligned with platform requirements and budget, facilitating improvements in the commercial process and minimising risk. Demonstrated experience in leading contract negotiations for large-scale digital platforms to establish a consistent approach, ensure compliance, and optimise outcomes for the organisation and stakeholders. Knowledge and practical experience in managing significant budgets encompassing expense and revenue with exposure to government funding principles, cost centre management and finance practices. Demonstrated experience in providing specialist expertise and strategic leadership in high-value commercial matters related to all-of-government digital platforms to maximise value and outcomes. Essential experience Procurement, finance and pricing experience including demonstrated ability to be an SME on government digital commercial operations. Significant experience in building effective networks and mutually beneficial partnerships. Knowledge and certifications in SAFe are preferred including understanding of participatory budgeting principles. To Apply Click the link to submit your application.
