With us, you can. WSP are looking for experienced Geotechnical Engineers/Geologists to join our renowned Geotechnical & Tunnels team, based in our Newcastle office! We have two exciting roles available, comprising a Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist and also an Associate Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist. Our Geotechnical and Tunnels team is driven by a passion for technical excellence and innovation. By joining our Hunter team, you will be working collaboratively with our Principal and Executive Engineers, as well as providing technical advice to our diverse client portfolio, over the full asset life cycle. Our works typically include site investigations, feasibility studies, design and analyses, construction support, and dam operation, as well as the development of dam safety management systems, including dam surveillance, safety reviews, and risk assessments. What you’ll do: Foster and maintain relationships from proposal preparation to managing financial and technical aspects of delivering small to large scale projects. Undertake and manage geotechnical investigation and design projects from proposal preparation to fieldwork, analysis, and reporting. Support the delivery of dam surveillance, safety inspections, risk assessments, and development of safety management systems. Use your interpretation and design skills to contribute to geotechnical projects predominantly in the energy transition, mining industry, and transport industry. Work closely with the multidisciplinary team throughout project delivery. Drive business development through successful delivery of your projects. Promote a safe working culture by identifying and eliminating safety hazards. About You: WSP encourages and supports ongoing personal and professional development. To be successful in these positions, it is anticipated that you will possess the following qualifications / requirements: A Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology degree - Postgraduate qualifications in a geotechnical related field will be considered favourably. Must have experience in geotechnical engineering/engineering geology (local experience preferred). Experience and passion for tailings storage facility and water dam management. A successful track record in undertaking and managing field investigations for small to large size geotechnical projects. Track record of promoting innovation in the field of geotechnical engineering to create value for clients and their projects. Demonstrated experience in the preparation/review of written technical reports and client communications. Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design including rock/soil/structure interaction. A strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment. Ability to take responsibility for geotechnical design delivery in a multidisciplinary environment.
