We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join our Government Public & Regulatory team in Canberra working with Maxine Feletti . About the team and the work The team acts for a range of public and private sector clients across various industries including defence, transport, construction, parliamentary, disability, aged care, environment, finance, insurance, and hospitality, in one of the largest and most highly regarded Government teams in the country. This role will be responsible for managing a diverse range of matters, including workplace health & safety (WHS), whistleblowing, regulatory compliance, discrimination, common law, and work injury claims. The team advises and assists with litigated and non-litigated matters, statutory interpretation, investigations, audits, risk management, and pro bono matters. The role also offers opportunities for secondments. You will have the opportunity to be involved in regular advocacy work in various state and territory courts and tribunals. The team works on high profile, sensitive, and strategic matters, collaborating with leading experts in the field. You will work in a supportive, flexible, and collaborative team, receiving mentorship directly from Maxine. About you Ideally, you will have 3+ years’ experience gained from a highly regarded government team and/or defendant legal practice. You will have experience acting for government and institutional clients across the public and private sector. Advocacy experience or an interest in developing these skills is preferred.
