Associate Manager - Automation Apply locations : Sydney, NSW, Australia Time type : Full time Posted on : Posted 3 Days Ago Job requisition id : JR_038839 The primary role of the Associate Manager - Automation function is to provide people and technical leadership to a team whilst working to grow performance, improvements and efficiencies across the broader hardware engineering department. The role actively focuses on developing self and team technical and leadership capability, applying talent management and succession planning practices to enable technical skill development and organizational capability. The role builds a positive and high-performance engineering team. This role is responsible for automation across hardware engineering, including test automation, test tooling, robotics, and process enhancements. The role strives to build strong technical expertise and engineering leadership within the Automation and Algorithm team. An associate manager is responsible for leading a small engineering team to deliver a component or sub-system. This role works closely with, and requires effective collaboration with engineering technical specialists, systems engineering, V&V engineering, and other engineering disciplines. Let’s talk about Responsibilities Demonstrate leadership in technical direction and initiatives in automation Ensure that appropriate processes, tools, and automation are in place to ensure the successful development of future AI / automation enhancements Assist in the development of policies and procedures, which improve the ability to deliver medical devices Interface with project and discipline stakeholders to ensure automation needs are met Develop measures, feedback, and reporting mechanisms to the engineering leadership team A commitment to business excellence and a strong desire to improve the activity of engineering Ensure the implementation of management systems within their area of responsibility (including following quality management systems) Provide growth opportunities for development aligned to the 70 : 20 : 10 model. Coach and provide regular feedback to ensure team members grow, develop, and be the best that they can be. Assist in workforce planning across Automation and Algorithms Assist in developing engineering frameworks and strategy that aligns with that of the business whilst implementing new technologies and new technical directions for the improvement of the team Nurture team culture in line with department culture Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience Required : Tertiary degree in engineering Full product development lifecycle Preferred : Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
