Job Description In this permanent opportunity, based in Epworth Richmond, you will be responsible for supporting the Nurse Unit Manager and assisting in the overall clinical management and team leadership of the 19-bed overnight and 6-bed day case unit. You will care for babies (from 28 days), children and adolescents (up to 18 years), receiving care for both medical and surgical conditions. You will make an impact by: Caring for highly acute patients – spinal fusions for Scoliosis and Hi-Flow O2 Therapy Supporting patients across various surgeries - Orthopaedic, ENT, Plastics, Oral Maxillofacial and General Surgery as well as Pain Management and Endocrine Responding to emergency medical admissions through our expanding Paediatric emergency department Supporting and educating parents on their children’s surgery pre and post-op Being part of the Leadership Team that focuses on delivering exceptional patient, family and staff experience while achieving high-quality clinical outcomes To be successful in this role… You will either be in an ANUM role or looking to step into an ANUM role. You have the ability to communicate with young children and teenagers in a friendly manner. You are intuitive to understanding a child’s needs and thrive in making a patient’s stay a comfortable and non-threatening experience. You’re keen to progress your career, learn how to lead a unit and are open to mentoring and accessing internal leadership programs that support your journey. You will have: Appropriate AHPRA registration Clinical understanding of Paediatric nursing care Acute Paediatric nursing experience Understanding of Child Safety Standards Post graduate qualification in Paediatric Nursing and/or Management is highly desired but not essential.
