Associate Lawyer (3–5 PQE) – Planning & Environment (Property Focus) Location: Sydney or Remote (opportunity to base yourself in a regional location) Are you a property lawyer with experience in land acquisitions, looking for a unique and specialised role? A leading national law firm is expanding its Planning & Environment team and is seeking an Associate (3–5 PQE) to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a property lawyer to work at the intersection of property, energy, and resources, advising on high-profile land acquisitions in the renewables, mining, and agribusiness sectors. About the Role You will work closely with clients in the energy and resources sector, advising on land acquisitions for major projects, including: Acting for property developers acquiring land for wind farms and renewable energy projects. Representing property owners in negotiations with mining companies seeking to purchase land. Managing complex land transactions, including put and call option agreements, easements, and leasing arrangements. Advising on Crown land matters, native title issues, and water licensing requirements. Handling due diligence for large-scale property acquisitions. Who They Are Looking For A qualified lawyer with 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in property law. Experience in land acquisitions, either from private practice, an in-house legal role, or local government. Strong background in mining, renewables, agribusiness, or infrastructure projects would be highly regarded. Strong commercial acumen and ability to negotiate and manage complex transactions.
