About you UOW is seeking to recruit an accomplished clinical academic with extensive experience in providing clinical services in a rural setting to provide leadership in rural medicine for the Graduate School of Medicine. This role will involve both academic and operational leadership for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, encompassing leadership for admissions, education, assessment, and research and evaluation within the discipline. Additionally, the position will focus on developing and embedding sustainable partnerships with rural education, training, and research stakeholders to provide meaningful rural education and support for UOW medical students, contributing to the return of UOW medical graduates to rural medical practice. To be considered for this role, you should hold a degree in a relevant field of medicine, nursing, or midwifery, with eligibility for unconditional professional registration as a practitioner in NSW, as well as Clinical Fellowship/Health Board membership. We are seeking candidates with a proven track record in delivering health education activities, ideally in a rural setting. A clear vision for remote and rural medicine and the development of the rural medical workforce is essential. You should also have experience in health leadership for financial and operational management, appropriate use of resources and processes, and reporting to health or government agencies. You should demonstrate accomplishment in scholarly activities, including curriculum development and the ability to implement teaching programs with a rural focus. A strong research track record, including publications in high-quality national and international peer-reviewed journals, as well as experience in securing grant funding and research impact, will be highly regarded, especially for a Professorial (Level E) appointment. As this position requires attendance at Public Health Facilities, the position holder must comply with vaccination requirements outlined in the NSW Health Policy for any work undertaken in NSW Health facilities in accordance with the revised NSW Health Policy PD2023_022.
