Associate/Senior Associate (4-5 PAE) - Private Equity/Venture Capital - Sydney This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the most prestigious firms within their private equity and venture capital practice. 14th January, 2025 We are currently partnering with a leading global and top tier law firm who are seeking a talented Solicitor or Senior Associate with 4-5 years of post-admission experience to join their prestigious Private Equity & Venture Capital team in Sydney.This opportunity provides exposure to high-value, cross-border transactions and collaborations with market-leading clients in sectors such as technology, energy, and private capital. The Team The team consists of experienced Partners, Senior Associates, Solicitors and Graduate Lawyers. The Partners are industry leaders and renowned in their field who you will have the opportunity to work with closely. The team works collaboratively to advise on complex transactions and strategic investments. The Role As a key member of the Private Equity and Venture Capital team, the role will see you: Advise on transactions involving private equity funds, venture capital firms, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and corporate venture arms. Assist investors and start-ups through all stages of the investment lifecycle, including early-stage investments, growth capital raising, and exit strategies. Support cross-border deals, leveraging the firm’s global network, particularly in markets spanning the US, UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Provide strategic advice on fund structuring, capital deployment, consortium arrangements, external financing, and acquisitions. Collaborate closely with partners and the wider team on client matters, sharing knowledge and developing innovative solutions to complex legal issues. Requirements The successful candidate will ideally have the following: Between 4-5 years of post-admission experience in a leading M&A, private equity or venture capital practice. Strong technical and analytical skills, with a proven ability to manage complex transactions. Exceptional drafting and negotiation abilities. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for transactional work. The ability to build strong client relationships and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
