As part of this team, you’ll provide independent, objective assessments of the design and operational effectiveness of controls over financial reporting. Your expertise will ensure that our financial statements remain accurate and free from material misstatement. By enhancing governance and accountability, you’ll help drive successful outcomes across the organisation. You’ll also have the opportunity to influence key decisions and become a trusted advisor on Assurance matters, making a significant impact on the organisation's success. About the Role (12 Month FTC) As an Assurance Lead you’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Financial Control to develop and maintain a high-performing team focused on strengthening risk analysis and controls over financial reporting. Your work will align directly with EnergyAustralia’s strategic goals, ensuring we stay ahead in a dynamic environment. In addition, you’ll take the lead in developing and implementing the team’s strategy, while ensuring the team has all the necessary resources, training, and support for success. If you have a proven background in internal audit, internal control, or compliance assurance and ready to make an impactful contribution and drive meaningful change your key responsibilities will involve: Support the Head of Financial Control by designing and facilitating the completion of the annual internal controls over financial reporting testing plan. Responsible for assuring the design and operational effectiveness of an organization's financial reporting controls. Carry out Assurance in an independent and objective manner, and findings and recommendations are communicated effectively to the organization's management. Influence stakeholders and owners of controls across EnergyAustralia to strengthen and uplift the control environment, in line with EnergyAustralia’s strategic goals and objectives. Staying up to date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices, and ensuring that the team's work reflects these changes. Drive successful outcomes for the company, by providing valuable control advice and guidance to senior leaders and other stakeholders. Ensure that the Internal Control Framework is effectively implemented and maintained across the company, incorporating best practices to ensure that the company's internal control processes are robust and effective. Work closely and collaboratively with the Enterprise Risk team to ensure that control management methodology is integrated with Enterprise Risk frameworks and systems. How can you support the Clean Energy Transition To be successful you will have the following: A minimum of 8 years’ experience in internal audit, internal controls, external audit or regulatory compliance assurance. Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, information systems or another relevant degree (minimum) Post graduate qualified chartered accountant, certified internal auditor or certified information systems auditor.
