About the Role As an Assurance Manager, you will support the Oversight & Integration Manager in executing assurance activities under the program, focusing on compliance with Suncorp Bank’s Governance Oversight Standards and the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF). This role involves monitoring and verifying risk and compliance processes, conducting testing, and reporting findings to ensure the effective completion of in-scope uplift and remediation requirements. Role Location: Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane Role Type: Fixed term contract – 18 months What will your day look like? As an Assurance Manager, you will: Lead the coordination and progression of assurance activities and verification for the Financial Crime Compliance Program of Action (FCC PoA), both during implementation and post-delivery of key uplift and remediation efforts to ensure embeddedness. Drive the enhancement of assurance, compliance monitoring, and oversight across the program. Promote education and awareness by embedding Group-wide understanding and adoption of assurance, monitoring, verification, QC, and QA frameworks across all products and channels. Serve as a key liaison with 1LoD and technology partners, ensuring seamless coordination on assurance initiatives. Oversee the coordination of the 2LoD approach to assurance and verification activities. Report on assurance activities for the PoA, ensuring accurate representation of obligations, risks, and the impact of issues on the overall risk profile. Provide detailed reporting, analysis, and consolidation of assurance, monitoring, and verification findings for internal and external compliance reporting. What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Degree in Business, Law, Accounting, or a relevant field (desired), with additional certifications such as ACAMS or ACFE being a plus. Extensive experience in financial crime areas (AML/CTF, Sanctions, fraud, corruption & bribery), with a strong background in regulatory compliance, risk management, or commercial roles within the financial services industry. Proven experience in stakeholder management, particularly with senior management, and in interpreting and advising on complex financial crime issues such as transaction monitoring, fraud management, and anti-bribery programs. A solid understanding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and a demonstrated ability to oversee corporate compliance programs and regulatory change projects. Strong strategic thinking and the ability to balance regulatory requirements with operational and commercial business priorities. Excellent facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively navigate regulatory and industry bodies, along with the ability to develop solutions and recommend actions based on data analysis and cause-effect relationships.
