We're seeking a talented Audio and Video Editor to join our team in creating engaging, accessible news content. The ideal candidate will excel at transforming complex news stories into clear, approachable audio and video content while maintaining our commitment to agenda-free journalism. Key Responsibilities Edit and assist with the post-production of news podcasts and videos, ensuring all content meets high editorial standards. The role requires rapid editing turnaround in a fast-paced news/information environment. Collaborate with our editorial team to transform complex news stories into clear, engaging content that resonates with our core audience of busy, information-seeking Australians. Manage the setup and execution of video and audio recordings, staying up to date with industry trends and new technologies. Create and edit educational audio content for our Newshounds program, targeted at 7-12yos. Stay informed about Australian news and current affairs to ensure content adheres to our high standards for factual accuracy and bias-free reporting. Work with our editorial team to maintain brand consistency across all platforms. Technical Skills/Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in podcast production and/or digital news media editing. Strong proficiency in audio and video editing software - experience with Reaper and Adobe Suite preferred. Experience in optimising content across multiple platforms and formats. Ability to maintain consistent sound and visual quality across all content. Skills in creating engaging visual elements for social media platforms. Strong news judgment and attention to detail. Ability to maintain neutrality and avoid bias in content presentation. Excellence in simplifying complex information without losing accuracy. Strong focus on audience needs and engagement. Ability to work within tight deadlines while maintaining quality. Collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.
