This state-of-the-art facility is set to revolutionize how we deliver exceptional service and products to our customers across the country. As we embark on this exciting journey of growth and innovation, we are on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Automated Distribution Centre Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will report to the Head of DC Operations, and be at the forefront of transforming retail logistics. This is an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be at the forefront of opening a brand-new DC, and be a key player in setting it up and shaping its success from the ground up! As the first DC Manager at the Truganina DC, you will grow the team culture and set the DC up for success. In addition, your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Participating in automation testing before and during implementation to ensure effectiveness of the new system. Leading the Distribution Centre with a strong focus on safety and employee well-being, ensuring compliance with all site safety protocols and fostering a safe, supportive environment. Understanding the automation methodology to ensure inventory is processed effectively as well as establishing strong relationships between the automation provider and the leadership team to ensure seamless maintenance and support for the equipment. Owning and creating the DC midterm strategy (12 -24 months) to account for key delivery objectives, efficiencies and brand/product operating requirements. Planning and executing for all improvement measures, including operational delivery, efficiency and brand/product operating requirements. Ensuring profitability of the operation, applying sound budgeting principles to an annual budget and controlling operating expenses and productivity to strike the balance of cost/service. Developing the team capability across DC Operations, which includes Managers, Shift Managers, and Team Managers and ensuring clear leadership for the team on training and development planning and execution. About You We are looking for a leader who prioritises safety and the people who make our DC run efficiently. You are someone with the expertise to hit the ground running and lead the operation forward. You combine operational knowledge with a deep understanding of what drives individuals and teams to succeed. In addition, you have: Experience in leading an automated Warehouse and/or Distribution Centre, preferably with experience in Retail, FMCG or multi-brand warehousing. Experience working within an Automated Distribution Centre with operational knowledge of the automation and inventory interdependencies. Expert Safety Leadership, including all PCBU requirements for site safety governance. Experience in leading large teams (100+) and building high performing and engaged teams up to Leadership levels. Experience with implementing Continuous Improvement programs or methodologies, including delivery of CI programs through teams/direct reports. Experience in commercial management (operational) including Budget build (annual cycle) and active management of cost and productivity measures for a DC. WHY JOIN US?
