About the Role We are now seeking an experienced or emerging technical leader to head up our small group of talented software developers. This is an opportunity for you to stay hands-on with the technologies you enjoy while also taking the next step in your career to grow your skills in mentoring others, interfacing with customers, and coordinating projects through their whole lifecycle. Most of our projects involve a multi-disciplinary team, so you will work closely with the leaders of our hardware engineering and electrical trade teams to scope, resource, and execute each new customer work package. Jobs range from small efficiency improvements through to commissioning entire new production lines, along with ongoing troubleshooting and support. You can look forward to great satisfaction in the knowledge that you've made a real difference in improving the delivery of many locally made goods, and along the way, have helped to develop the more junior members of your team through the technical guidance you've provided them. Reporting directly to the managing director, you will also have the opportunity to influence the direction of our whole business by leading process improvements, driving best practices, and introducing new technologies. This is a challenging and responsible position, but without doubt an interesting and fun one. About You You will have a software-focused ICT or engineering degree, as well as at least 5 years working in OT projects, ideally in an industrial context. You will possess a working knowledge of most, if not all, of the following areas: Networking IIoT communications and protocols Human-machine interfaces PLC/Real-time programming Data collection and analysis Outstanding interpersonal skills, clear and concise written and verbal communication, and a great can-do attitude are all a must in order to garner the respect of your team. You might already have years of experience in running projects, or you might have only recently begun seeking the challenge and satisfaction that comes from team leadership.
