Autonomous Systems Engineer Join the Autonomous Road Train project at a Tier 1 Mining & Energy company, developing and implementing autonomy and energy related products. You’ll leverage your expertise in systems engineering principles, automation, and control systems to assist in design, test, and deployment of robust and efficient systems. 12 month contract + possibility of extension $90-110/hr + super (roughly $229k + super per annum) Perth CBD location + adhoc site travel Monday to Friday, 40hr work week What you’ll be doing day to day: Analyse and help define system requirements for autonomy related systems including energy management. Assist in the delivery of design and verification of software and hardware components for autonomous systems. Assist in the delivery of integration of various technologies such as sensors, machinery, and communication protocols into a cohesive system. Deliver system design interfaces, specifications, and procedures, in agreed format. Collaborate cross-functionally with software, product development, and other stakeholders. What you’ll need to be successful in this role: Full Australian working rights – this position offers NO VISA SPONSORSHIP OR RELOCATION ASSISTANCE! Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies. Understanding of control theory, functional safety, safety in design and security in design. Experience developing N2 charts mapping out system interactions. Familiarity with embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, Ethernet). Experience with SysML or other modelling frameworks. Experience in mining will be highly regarded.
