About the Role As a Business Assurance & Controls Manager within the Everyday Banking Assurance Team, you’ll play a key role in helping to ensure adequate first line risk advisory support is provided to the Deposits & Third Party Deposits (TPD) businesses.Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Role Type: Permanent, Full TimeRole Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008 What will your day look like? Facilitate and participate in Non-Financial Risk & Control Forums (NFRCFs), including preparing and presenting risk slides for BU-1/BU. Prepare monthly risk owner update packs and summarise key insights for business discussions. Provide risk advisory support for business decisions on risk management, including reviewing and challenging Non-Financial Risk Assessments (NFRAs) and Initiative Review Forum (IRF) packs. Guide the business on conducting change risk impacts and assessments (Change Risk Materiality Assessments/NFRAs) and managing related risks. Act as a liaison between the business and 2nd line for change initiatives. Support the development of effective controls for E2E risk management and the business through the control testing processes. Develop remediation plans with the business and control owners. Identify and develop opportunities to automate and simplify the control environment. Conduct BAU risk profiling and ongoing risk profile uplift activities, including I.AM Amplified. Review and support the business's risk profiles, control environment, and risk treatment plans. Maintain and manage risk data completeness and quality in NFR Hub. Assist with integrating and implementing I.AM Amplified Non-Financial Risk Transformation and High Impact Processes (HIPs) programs of work. Support the business in actioning outcomes from thematic reviews, deep dives, and trend analysis. Provide risk advisory support and enhance risk awareness and capabilities. What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Strong operational risk (e.g. 1st Line /2nd Line) experience with risk management, compliance and/or internal / external audit. Prior experience with Anti-Money Laundering obligations and processes. Ability to critically analyse change initiatives and identify non-financial (operational) risk impacts to the business. Ability to collaborate with the business to develop effective operational risk management solutions. Ability to develop and use analytical insights and data to identify opportunities to better balance risk with customer propositions and help drive critical business decisions by analysing metrics, designing reports and writing risk submissions. Desire to create a thorough understanding of how our customers and bankers relate and react to embedding risk management in everyday activities. Willingness to look at things differently, challenge the status quo and innovate. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships through a collaborative approach across the value chain and with partners including Customer Engagement, Operations, Digital and Technology.
