Expressions of Interest – multiple roles Give back to the building industry Part-time positions About the organisation The Minister for Housing and Building is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced Victorians to be appointed to the Building Appeals Board (BAB) and the Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC). Accountable to the Minister, both boards seek the best possible outcomes for the Victorian building industry and the community as a whole in accordance with the Building Act 1993 . About the roles The members of the BAB and BRAC will draw on their skills and professional expertise to inform collective decision making and support the board of which they are a member in carrying out its regulatory functions. Bringing experience in legal practice, building, building surveying, civil/structural engineering, fire safety engineering, quantity surveying, town planning, architecture, consumer representation or plumbing, as well as a strong working knowledge of issues relevant to the Victorian building industry, the appointees will contribute effectively as a team. About you You are a highly regarded leader with board or executive experience in, or extensive knowledge of, the building and construction industries, service delivery environments or regulatory functions. Underpinning your practical and in-depth knowledge of public administration and corporate governance is your ability to analyse information, think strategically, and review and appropriately question to make informed decisions and assess performance. A thoughtful communicator and adept at navigating complexities, you relish the opportunity to drive good outcomes for all Victorians.
