Job Description Challenge yourself to a dynamic and stakeholder heavy role within the Airport Operations Team Together, we drive positive business outcomes by ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency in our Airports 2 x opportunities based at Sydney Airport (1x 12 month Fixed-Term Contract, 1 x Permanent) As a Base Operations Manager , you will be responsible for working with the QantasLink Airports team to provide remote support to ensure safe and efficient day-to-day operations involving multiple regional airports, third party suppliers and QantasLink staff (including but not limited to ground services, ramp, and customer service personnel). This role will primarily focus on contract management and support to our supplier frontline teams to achieve the strategic business objectives of safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence. You will also be responsible for managing key elements of the operation including Ground Support Equipment (GSE), IT, uniforms, stationary, communications etc. and assisting to ensure all supplier staff are compliant with operational procedures and processes. The role is required to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement business improvement initiatives that will improve customer service delivery and operational performance in the regional airport ground handling operation. You’ll have – Previous experience in a supervising operational role within an Airport environment (desirable) Analytical and solution focused approach to problem solving, with a drive to work to tight and everchanging deadlines Commitment to a continuous improvement philosophy Strong stakeholder management and communication skillsets (both Verbal and Written) with the ability to influence individuals at all levels Keen eye for safety and compliance, you will support WHS in the workplace and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations The ability to effectively manage grievances and conflict Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office A Bachelor in Aviation Management (desirable but not essential) Ability to travel to various ports when required In this busy environment, you’ll be constantly learning as you go.
