Battle Management Coordinator (BMC) - Bonboo Integration Specialist Role: As a Battle Management Coordinator (BMC), you will be required to undertake a leadership role during the exercise design and execution phases of Advanced Training within the Air Warfare Centre (AWC). Location: This position will be based at RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW, 2314. Details: As an Integration Specialist at Bonboo you will be required to contribute to the development of AWC’s Live and Synthetic activities. Primary Responsibilities: The Battle Management Coordinator will undertake the following tasks: Work with planners to facilitate all stages of exercise planning, from concept through to final planning; Lead working groups and define and facilitate AWC requirements; Work with stakeholders to refine, shape and align training requirements to match command intent and available training opportunities; Manage stakeholder expectations; Understand the threat environment, leveraging available tools and innovating where required to improve training aids that will achieve training outcomes; Develop plans that outline all components of the exercise including support documentation for all control levels being exercised; Work with technical staff to ensure exercise architecture will effectively achieve outcomes; Engage in frequent and open dialogue with Air Force leadership to refine exercise concepts and strategies, ensuring they remain aligned with overarching organisational goals and priorities; Communicate effectively and foster collaboration among team members to ensure planning success. Secondary Responsibilities: In addition to the tasks described above the BMC will be required to undertake the following roles: Understand and ensure the Blue (friendly) and Red (opposition) C2 plans are suitable; Work with the Air Operations Centre (AOC) to simulate communications to the Blue C2 team; Develop contingency plans for system degradation/failure and advise the ExD of options during alternate or contingency operations; Provide information to exercise participants through C2 channels; Provide data in support of mission debriefing; Work with Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) and the AWC/TTD Operational Analysis team to ensure exercise design objectives will enable effective post activity review gap analysis, and will generate the information required to feed the Integrated Tactics Development (ITD) cycle and Force Generation for future events; Develop documentation during exercise design; Management of security levels; Develop and facilitate airspace requirements; Work with technical staff to ensure effective IT and communications systems are in place to support an exercise; Provide support to White Force elements during mission execution. Essential employment requirements and skills: Hold Australian Citizenship; Qualified and experienced Air Battle Manager (ABM), or qualified Other Aircrew (OA) minimum C CAT; Must possess the following skills, experience, characteristics and character outlined: Understand ADF and Allied security structures and manage security sensitivities correctly during exercise design and execution; Advanced level leadership skills; Advanced facilitation skills; Expert coaching and instructional skills; Deep understanding of operational art and an ability to translate that into an effective training environment; Work harmoniously in small highly skilled teams; Effective communication and collaborative skills with the ability to take RAAF operator inputs and shape into specific exercise architectures to meet RAAF AWC requirements; An attitude of going above and beyond where required to ensure mission success; Willing to take responsibility for the delivery of effective training; An innovator who improves best practice; Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally at Commonwealth request; High end skills and data analysis abilities utilising software program such as Microsoft Office; Ability to meet timelines; Capable of working under time, volume and late change pressures; Desirable employment requirements: Military aviation operations experience, as an operator and/or commander; Air Warfare Instructor Course graduate (or equivalent); Multi-platform operations experience; Cross Australian Defence Organisation experience; Joint operational and/or exercise experience; Air Operations Centre (or equivalent) experience; Exercise planning and execution experience; L&S training and operations experience; Distributed mission training experience; Integrated/Joint Force planning experience; Air Operations Planning Course graduate; Joint Operations Planning Course graduate; Experience in instruction; Experience in writing Post Activity Reporting.
