VitalTrace As a biosensor scientist at VitalTrace, you will be pivotal in designing, fabricating, evaluating, and optimising novel electrochemical enzymatic biosensors. This role involves conducting detailed electroanalytical experiments to demonstrate the efficacy and consistency of new biosensor formulations and fabrication methods. Benefits: 70000 AUD - 80000 AUD (Annum) Tasks & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Designing, fabricating, evaluating, and optimising novel electrochemical enzymatic biosensors. Conducting electroanalytical experiments to demonstrate the efficacy and consistency of new biosensor formulations and fabrication methods. Performing test methods for biosensor performance assessment, generating documentation and written work instructions, and reporting on experimental results. Performing statistical analyses on experimental data sets and providing informed interpretation of results. Collaborating with other teams to perform cross-disciplinary projects to further biosensor development towards manufacturing and clinical studies. Driving project planning, timeline tracking, milestones, deliverables, and prioritisation for technology projects and providing regular updates to leadership. Ensuring IP protection of developed methods. Performing testing methods, generating documentation, and ensuring product traceability based on regulatory requirements. Applying deep knowledge of electrochemical principles and methodologies to advance biosensor technology. Providing technical leadership in electrochemical characterization techniques, such as cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, to optimize sensor design and performance. Leading research initiatives to innovate and develop advanced electrochemical biosensor technologies and fabrication methods for VitalTrace’s Biosensor Manufacturing Facility. Utilizing your expertise in electrochemistry to design and optimize sensor architectures and fabrication methods for highly consistent and reproducible biosensors. Qualification & Experience Requirements: Minimum 1 year of experience working in industry, especially within a regulated environment, medical device manufacturing and/or new product introduction. Experience in electrochemistry is necessary. Experience with thin film fabrication, physical characterization (e.g., XRD, TGA, and Viscometer), chemical characterization (FTIR, UV-VIS), and imaging (e.g., SEM, TEM). Demonstrate close adherence to laboratory procedures and protocols to generate high-quality scientific outputs. Ability to be highly methodical, well-organised, and detail-oriented while being able to communicate scientific results clearly to the team through written and verbal means. Demonstrated understanding and experience with data analysis tools (i.e., Excel, Python) and statistical methods and analysis. Ability to work independently across multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. Self-motivated individual who takes initiative and holds the highest scientific standards coupled with the ability to work in both a team environment and independently with minimal guidance. Demonstrated experience in supervising junior staff and/or project management is desirable. Qualifications: Post-graduate degree in Biotechnology or Nanotechnology. PhD degree in electrochemical biosensors.
