BADAC is the Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation (ACCO) for the Ballarat and District area, covering 4 local government areas (LGAs). The Opportunity Are you looking to kickstart your career in business administration? BADAC is very excited to announce that we are offering an exciting 12-month full-time traineeship. With us, you will gain hands-on experience while completing a Certificate III in Business Administration. This role is an entry-level administration role and will be best suited for someone who has just finished school and is wanting to get a jump start in their administration career. The Details Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, our Trainee will assist with general reception and administration duties within Ballarat and District Aboriginal Co-Operative. This role offers a unique blend of on-the-job training, mentoring, and online classroom learning. The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and positive and have sound knowledge of Aboriginal culture and an ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of Aboriginal & non-Aboriginal clients. As a trainee, you will work alongside our team to support daily office operations while working towards your Certificate III in Business Administration over 12 months. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Receipt of all enquiries, both in person and by telephone, and ensure that these enquiries are directed to the relevant and appropriate individual within the organisation. Data entry and document management. Customer service and reception duties. Scheduling and administrative support. Assisting with reports and correspondence. Key Selection Criteria: Sound knowledge and understanding or willingness to learn about Aboriginal culture and values. Being a familiar face to the community with strong community ties preferred but not essential. The successful applicant must be friendly, professional, and willing to provide support to the community and the workplace. Enthusiastic and eager to learn. Strong communication and organisational skills. A team player with attention to detail. No prior experience required - ideal for recent school leavers or career changers! Commitment to work towards and complete a Certificate III in Business Administration.
