The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the growth of new business and expansion of current services across the portfolio. This role involves identifying organic and acquisition opportunities, building strategic partnerships, leading projects and negotiating and converting organic and acquisition opportunities with new and existing customers. Market Analysis and Strategy Development Effectively lead or support strategic studies, investigate marketplaces and industry trends including in M&A markets Implements strategic plans to develop and acquire energy projects in target market segments Relationship Management Cultivate and maintain strong relationships relevant to target market segments, which generally includes investment banks, large corporates, government and private stakeholders Act as the primary point of contact for key growth accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction Prospecting for New Opportunities Maintains knowledge of day-to-day market developments and accurately assesses the opportunities provided Identify and research potential targets and clients, and evaluate business opportunities consistent with the growth strategy of the Company Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to generate leads Prepare and present business proposals to potential clients / sellers Project Management & Collaboration Effectively manage new projects, acquisitions or joint ventures through to from project inception through to contract execution / final investment decision Lead or support M&A project management processes including due diligence, valuations, scoping, closing and integration Co-ordinate inter-disciplinary input from internal teams and third parties to align efforts and drive business growth Project manage the response to Expressions of Interest and Request for Quotations/ Tenders Share insights and feedback from clients and stakeholders to inform product development and service improvements Opportunity Conversion Undertake economic and financial investigations to support investment cases Prepare and present investment cases that align to investment criteria to Executives Negotiate and conclude organic and inorganic projects with clients and partners / seller Person Specification Must have initiative, and the ability to understand and manage risk in order to achieve success Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines Proven ability to build and maintain business relationships at a senior level Ability to proactively manage multiple resources to complete a commercial project (commercial, legal, technical, financial, HSE) Effective and co-operative team worker with a sense of humour Ability to develop innovative, competitive solutions to convert opportunities Effective verbal and written communication with a healthy combination of creativeness and practicality Ability to function within, and in support of, the company’s management systems and protocols Hands on style and results orientated Sound logical and analytical skills Proven ability to perform with a high level of commercial astuteness and ethical integrity Effective time management and organisational skills Confidential, discreet and professional Accurate and attentive to detail where relevant; and Approachable with sound people and team development skills.
