The Role Reporting to the Queensland Area Manager, your role will be responsible for: Servicing existing customers and developing new & strategic customers. Developing new business opportunities within existing customers. Promoting new and existing products and services across all channels. Providing technical assistance and support. Preparing technical sales quotations and proposals. Developing business strategies in conjunction with the Area Manager & Director to maintain continued growth and margin levels. Providing market intelligence on competitor activities, products & pricing along with new business opportunities. Attributes for Successful Applicant We want a technical salesperson with the ability to work in a team. We seek someone who gets the job done and is not full of hot air and self-importance. Strong relationship-building (internal and external) & excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical aspects of products and sales/engineering proposals. General understanding of industrial applications. Sound mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical transmission products including brakes, clutches, torque limiters, couplings, industrial gear units, drive components, and electric motors. Ability to perform product selections and calculations to meet customer requirements. Ability to plan and organize to work autonomously, as there will be a requirement for travel within Queensland. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc). A willingness and desire to learn new products and skills. This role would suit someone already in the mechanical power transmission field (or related industry, such as pumps or conveyors) seeking the chance to be valued and supported in their endeavors while backed by quality products (not commodities). This role may also appeal to a current internal salesperson wanting to transition into external sales. We have good knowledge, and if you are willing to learn, this could be the opportunity for you to advance your career. An engineering background, trade, or related industry experience such as the pump industry, gearing, or bearings would be highly regarded but not essential.
