The Business Development Manager (Virtual) will report to the Head of Business Development and work closely with them to enhance procedures, processes with a view to increasing department efficiencies and further grasping corporate market share growth. This role is virtual and will manage all national acquisition customers within the mid-market segment via teams, zoom and phone. The role will have minimal interstate travel. In addition, you will: Identify, qualify, procure and solicit tenders to convert corporate companies within our mid-market segment. Using technology-enhanced solutions you will connect, engage and acquire new air travel acquisitions via Teams, Zoom, and phones. Have a strong ability to build multiple-level relationships with internal, and external stakeholders and key suppliers like Travel Management Companies. Understand the different traveller personas to ensure your pitch engages the captured audience. Be confident with interpreting the Virgin Australia value proposition to encourage market share shifting. Use your data-led mindset to enable strategic targeting to optimise outcomes. Be confident with cold calling and effectively managing your own sales funnel. Ability to articulate customer needs in conjunction with our offers to develop compelling commercial partnerships. Target driven to achieve, and exceed associated individual and team OKRs, KPIs. Compile reports, presentations, and business case submissions. Work closely with the Head of Business Development to enhance procedures, and processes with a view to increase department efficiencies and further grasping corporate market share growth. Able to provide quick and timely responses, and immediate communication to clients in aid of developing professional long-term business relationships. Have sound relationship management skills to ensure adoption post win. Be to successful: Based in Sydney or Brisbane Min. 1 year experience as a Business Development Manager or Sales Executive preferably within the travel and tourism sector. Sound knowledge of sales end-to-end principles. Ability to analyse data and gain actionable insights. Knowledge of the Australian tourism structure, markets, and industry distribution. Ability to collate direct tenders and RFPs for Mid-Large portfolios. Exceptional interpersonal skills. CRM and Microsoft Suite proficient. Excellent organisational, time management, and administration skills. Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Be a strong negotiator and activator – committed to delivering results. Pitch perfect – Adaptable to different audience mixes. Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously.
