This is a permanent opportunity based at our Newstead Office in Brisbane . Your opportunity: As a Business Process Improvement Specialist , you play a key part in supporting the delivery of BPM and Continuous Improvement (CI) across EQL. Your role is hands-on, focused on fostering better collaboration across the business, and guaranteeing processes are not just improved but seamlessly integrated. You work closely with the Business Process Improvement Manager to explore, analyse, and document existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and support teams in implementing smarter, more effective ways of working. You also have a role in championing and building a culture of CI. Bringing curiosity, structure, and consistency to EQL’s BPM and CI function, you ensure improvement initiatives are well-documented, organised, and effectively implemented. So, what does your day-to-day look like? You spend your time: Supporting the design and maintenance of the BPM and CI framework, ensuring consistency in tools, templates, and standards. Conducting business process mapping, interrogation, and due diligence to identify opportunities for improvement. Monitoring and upholding governance, helping teams stay on track with process changes. Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate business process and improvement initiatives. Undertaking data analysis and performance monitoring to uncover trends and track improvements. Your role offers cross-functional exposure, leadership growth potential, and hands-on experience with innovation, automation, and change management. You also have some travel opportunities, primarily to support workshop facilitation and project work across our many Queensland locations, with the regularity varying based on project needs. Your remuneration starts from $158k per annum + 14.75% super for a 9-day fortnight, and from $179k per annum + 14.75% super for a 10-day fortnight. What’s on offer? What you’ll bring: You’re an experienced business professional with a strong interest in furthering your career in BPM . Ideally, you’ve worked in large, asset-intensive organisations – whether in utilities, engineering, or another B2B industry that aligns well with EQL’s environment. Particularly, you have: While formal BPM and CI certifications aren’t required, if you hold one – such as Lean Six Sigma or an equivalent certification – it’s an added advantage. A relevant degree is also beneficial, but not essential. Experience in BPM and CI , including supporting typical process improvement, project management, and delivery activities. This includes hands-on experience in mapping workflows, analysing inefficiencies, and supporting change initiatives. Understanding of BPM software applications that support the capture, analysis, and modelling of business processes. Your effective stakeholder engagement skills allow you to engage teams, making process improvements easy to understand and adopt. You’re naturally curious and analytical , with a problem-solving mindset – comfortable working in ambiguity and helping create structure where there isn’t any. Your strong analytical skills enable you to collect, analyse, and report on data, ensuring process improvements are backed by solid insights. You have great attention to detail and enjoy researching and gathering insights. You have a basic understanding of how technology supports process efficiency , without needing to be an IT expert.
