Our values are: We work together We make a difference We build strong client relationships We have fun ABOUT THE ROLE Our Intermediate Accountant role is all about applying the basic technical skills you’ve learned and being supported to take the next step in your professional career – leading into client communication, junior team development, and mastering more complex technical issues. As a Business Services Accountant, you’ll be reporting into the Team Leader (Director level) and Senior Manager, and your main roles and responsibilities will be to: Take the lead on client liaison with a selected number of clients, supported by your Manager Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts Prepare individual, BAS, and fringe benefit tax returns Review/prepare workpapers for entities, including proper use of lead sheets Prepare financial statements Conduct yearly tax planning Prepare trust minutes and review trust deeds, with guidance from Manager/Director Liaise with the ATO on common tax matters Research common tax issues e.g., payroll tax, workers comp, SGC Prepare/analyse relevant calculations for review using templates where required (e.g., hire purchase, motor vehicle, Div 7A loan repayments, borrowing cost amortisation, tax planning), with guidance from Manager/Director as required If you have experience in some of these areas, but want to learn and grow in others, we encourage you to apply. In addition to the above, you’ll need to have gained a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a business services accountant role, with exposure to SMEs. You should have completed a relevant bachelor degree (majoring in accounting) and be completing or interested in completing a post-graduate qualification (CA or CPA).
