Employment Type: Permanent Part Time Position Classification: Clinical Psychologist Remuneration: $53.23 - $64.88 per hour Hours Per Week: 24 Requisition ID: REQ538518 The Central Coast Local Health District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the Assertive Case Management Team (ACM) at Gosford Hospital. This role is pivotal in providing professional, comprehensive, and evidence-based psychology services to our patients. All psychologists within CCLHD are part of the Psychology Department, which promotes excellence, adherence to professional codes of conduct, and provides opportunities for ongoing professional development. The team provides intensive case management and holistic support to people 18 years and above where complex needs and comorbidities are impacting positive outcomes. ACM provides recovery focused support as an alternative to inpatient care for this population. The team offers an assertive outreach service where clients are treated in a least restrictive environment, either in the home or centre-based appointments. This requires travel to locations throughout the Central Coast region. This population often includes frequent users of emergency services with limited access to primary health and specialist care, often exhibiting higher rates of mental illness and cognitive impairment. This position will provide a specialist psychological service to individuals engaged within the ACM program, including cognitive rehabilitation, counselling for clients, recommendations for treatment, staff training, and consultation regarding the management of the special needs of clients with cognitive impairment. The position holder will be required to provide assertive outreach to deliver flexible and responsive assessment and treatment of clients with complex needs. The position holder will engage in research evaluation, including ongoing critical evaluation and refinement of appropriate treatment options. About You Registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA), and APHRA registration with specialist endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology, and current unrestricted Australian Driver’s licence. Experience performing clinical psychological assessments, treatment planning, report writing and demonstrated experience in cognitive behaviour therapy, or other evidence-based interventions. Demonstrated experience in report-writing suitable for applications to the Guardianship Tribunal and for the purpose of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Demonstrated extensive experience working in the community setting with proven effective caseload management, written and verbal communication skills, time management and organisational skills. Demonstrated skills in training staff members on screening and the management of cognitive impairment in clients with substance use disorders. What You'll Be Doing As a Clinical Psychologist at the Assertive Case Management Team (ACM) at Gosford Hospital, you will conduct independent assessments using validated measures to aid in diagnostic formulation and treatment planning. You will also develop, implement, and evaluate the inpatient group program, ensuring it meets the highest standards of care. Additionally, you will participate in clinical and administrative meetings, engage in teaching, training, and research activities, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Your role will involve supporting and developing activities that enhance client outcomes, acting as a consultant to CCLHD clients and staff, and maintaining strict adherence to professional and organisational policies and standards. The ACM is a non-acute community Drug & Alcohol team providing comprehensive support for people who have chronic substance dependence and highly complex needs. You will provide professional, evidence-based psychological services to admitted patients.
