This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency. Gosford Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Catheter Laboratory (CCL) team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of cardiac care, working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive and innovative nursing care. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a friendly and newly expanded cardiac catheter laboratory service. We now offer the Central Coast community an increased range of procedures and up-to-date technologies including coronary physiology (FFR/iFR/co-registration), investigations for ischaemia with non-obstructive coronary arteries (INOCA) e.g. IMR/CFR, and coronary imaging (IVUS and OCT). Our community also benefits from a highly-valued 24/7 on-call service for ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. We work closely with Diagnostic Cardiology and now have dedicated transoesophageal echo and cardioversion sessions, supported by anaesthetics. An electrophysiology service is commencing in July 2024. We offer excellent educational support with a dedicated CNE, staffing ratios as per ACORN standards, and training in all roles including haemodynamic monitoring. Applicants should possess excellent critical thinking skills and the desire to learn. Previous experience is not necessary. About You You have current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and hold a current Australian Drivers Licence. You are competent in interpretation of cardiac rhythms and management of patients with chest pain. Demonstrated effective clinical communication and interpersonal skills.
